DESCRIPTION:Orange County Board of Education Superintendent Dr. Stefan Bean Will Present at the August Cypress Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast\n\n\n\nThe Cypress Chamber of Commerce will host the Superintendent of the Orange County Board of Education\, Stefan Bean\, as our guest speaker at the August Networking Breakfast. Our event will be held Tuesday\, August 12th at the Residence Inn by Marriott at 4931 Katella Avenue\, Cypress/Los Alamitos starting at 7:30 a.m. Dr. Bean is expected to discuss the general state of public schools in Orange County\, including current challenges and opportunities. Dr. Bean will also talk about his 5-3-1 Strategic Plan\, built around five core initiatives\, three priorities for supporting districts and one goal to ensure all Orange County students thrive.\n\n\n\nDr. Stefan Bean has dedicated more than 25 years to serving Southern California communities and students as a teacher\, principal\, and school administrator. In June 2024\, the Orange County Board of Education unanimously appointed him as Orange County's 12th superintendent of schools   a role that dates all the way back to 1889.\n\n\n\nBefore being named county superintendent\, Dr. Bean served as executive director of the Irvine International Academy from July 2022 through June 2024. Prior to that\, he spent nearly 12 years with Aspire Public Schools in Los Angeles\, where he advanced through leadership roles as lead principal\, associate superintendent\, and superintendent\, where he oversaw 11 schools serving students from transitional kindergarten through 12th grade.\n\n \n\nHis education includes a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California\, a master's degree in educational leadership from Loyola Marymount University\, and a doctorate in educational administration from California State University\, Fullerton. Despite health issues\, Bean engaged in sports and extracurricular activities as a child\, serving as an umpire for sandlot baseball games\, joining the student council\, and developing his public speaking skills.\nEach Chamber breakfast attendee will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and share a little about their business before the program begins. Attendees are encouraged to bring a door prize to promote their product or service. The program will include time for live networking\, self-introductions\, a breakfast buffet\, and our guest speaker.\n\n\n\nReservations are highly recommended to secure your spot for the monthly breakfasts and can be made online. Breakfast registration is $25.00.\n\n\n\nCypress Chamber networking breakfast events are open to the public and are held on the second Tuesday of every month. Space will be limited.
