2026 December Networking Breakfast

The Cypress Chamber of Commerce will host Higher Ground Communications Director Jordan
Barrera at our December Networking Breakfast. This event will be held Tuesday, December 09th
at the Residence Inn by Marriott at 4931 Katella Avenue, Cypress/Los Alamitos starting at 7:30
a.m. The Chamber believes that the holiday season reminds us of the power of hope,
generosity, and community, so we try to adopt a SoCal-based non-profit. Jordan will share her
inspiring presentation that features stories of resilience and transformation through the work
of Higher Ground Youth & Family Services.

Chamber Networking Breakfast attendees can help out by bringing any shelf-stable food that
will then go into the food boxes Higher Ground will provide families to help sustain them over
the holiday break. Some suggested items to bring include: pasta sauce, peanut butter, dry
pasta, oatmeal, granola, pancake mix, green beans, canned fruit, tuna, apple sauce, black beans
and other items. Some Orange County families struggle over the winter break to feed their
children during what should be a very happy time.

Come spend the morning at a networking event with other business professionals and discover how the Higher Ground organization is helping youth and families overcome poverty, trauma, and abuse. You’ll also learn how you can make a lasting impact through volunteering, partnership, and community involvement. Jordan hopes our guests will leave feeling encouraged, inspired, and reminded that each of us has the power to make a difference.

Jordan Barrera serves as the Director of Communications & Development at Higher Ground
Youth & Family Services, where she leads marketing, community partnerships, fundraising, and
strategic initiatives that expand the organization’s impact across Orange County. Her journey
with Higher Ground began as a parent, when her son participated in some of the organization’s
programs. Experiencing that impact firsthand inspired her to become part of the entire Higher
Ground mission. Today, she is proud to be part of the dedicated team at Higher Ground that
helps countless individuals each year overcome challenges, build brighter futures, and achieve
their full potential.

Each Chamber networking breakfast guest will also have an opportunity to stand to introduce
themselves and share a little about their business before the program begins.
Reservations are highly recommended to secure your spot for the monthly breakfasts and can
be made online. Cost of the breakfast is $25.00. Attendees are also urged to bring along a door
prize to help promote their product or service.

The Chamber networking breakfasts, which are open to the public, are held on the second
